All of the ingredients for my baking regulars are purchased.
All of the presents are bought, wrapped and under the tree.
But tonight is my favorite night before Christmas. Holden Evening Prayer at church, followed by Christmas Light Viewing. Usually, we make homemade hot cocoa, but tonight, we're making a post-church Starbucks run instead (mmmm, peppermint mocha). I'm so excited - moreso than usual - because we'll have new neighborhoods and lights to see, a new church to worship in and when we come home, our fireplace will be awaiting us.
I make it sound like a fairy tale - and trust me, it's not - we close on our house tomorrow back home, and the loss we're taking is CRUSHING us emotionally (and made Christmas present buying VERY difficult). BUT....it'll soon be behind us, and what lies ahead is our focus.
New birth. New hope. New US.
