1. Our son is INSANELY competitive. You do NOT want to play any sort of board game with him and heaven help you if you pick up a video game controller. If you win, he loses it. He gets mad. He is NOT a good sport.
2. He's good. He's really good. At everything he does. It gives him a VERY big head.
3. He doesn't heal. Until now, he's been a golfer, which he continues to be. Sure you can get hurt playing golf (see exhibit A - this is the result of my son smacking his cousin with a club during his back swing). If my baby boy gets smacked, the black eye would stay all summer.
4. Schedules. I still haven't figured out how we're going to get over telling coach that he can't be at the game or practice because he has to have infusion. It's easier to just not do it than have to work around his treatments. Those are his feelings, not ours. Apparently the bug got him this year.5. He gets SUPER tired. Our doctor explained that the amount of energy it takes his body just to be AWAKE and functioning is equivalent to the amount of energy it takes a "Normal" body to run a marathon. Add running bases to the amount of energy he exerts just existing, and well, you get the idea.
But tonight is the night. Keep your fingers crossed!
