Sleep Studies

The other night when the storms were hitting heavy and hard, for the third night straight, our children (who are never afraid of storms) made their way out to the couch. My husband and I were watching "Army Wives" on TV, and the kids snuggled up on the couch with us saying "We're not sleepy, can we stay up late?" - and we knew full well it was the thunder and lightning that were keeping them up, even though they are too "grown up" to admit it.

Ten minutes later...

And this morning at about 3 am, our daughter made her way to our bed. Her room is on the other side of the house from ours, but she still trapses (plodding with her lead feet) through the hall, living room, kitchen and dining room to our bed once in a while. But it's not just her. Somehow she manages to bring her entire animal shelter of friends with her.

How she manages to carry them, in the dark, half asleep, I do not know. But I think she has a future as a vet or zookeeper or something! Here, we have (L-R), Spot, Elena, Cocoa, Skipper and Kowalski.

Just a couple of sleep studies conducted in our house this week. Now, if only mommy could get some sleep!
