Rhyme Time

My 2-year old daughter is intent on mastering rhyming. It is so funny to see her initiative and how different it is from my son’s at this age. (It must be a boy-girl thing.) So last night we enlisted the Disney babies to help us with some rhyming. It went something like this:

Me: “It is a bright sunny day. The Disney babies go out and _____”

Her: “PLAY!”

Me: “Baby Pluto peeks in a log. Baby Mickey finds a _____”

Her: “FROG!”

Me: “Baby Donald put on a hat. Baby Daisy pets a ____”

Her: “Kitty.”

(To myself) “Um, ok, we’ll let that one slide.”

Me: Baby Goofy catches a fish. Baby Minnie gets a _____”

Her: “PLATE!”

(To myself) “Ok, she’s 2. Don’t get frustrated.”

Me: “Time for lunch. Fish today. Oh, no! Goofy’s fish jumped ____”

Her: “AWAY!!” (with glee) “I did it Mommy, I can rhyme!”
