Some very dear of friends of ours are facing every parents' nightmare - the uncertainty of their daughter's fate. Their precious 6 month old baby girl has been in surgery since 9:30am this morning (it's 2:45 now) - and they weren't even sure why she was going to surgery. She spent the first 24 days of December in the hospital - she had 4 feet of her small bowel removed, liver issues, yeast infections, potassium scares and severe weight loss. At a very tiny 12 pounds now, she has been readmitted with "complications" and is undergoing surgery to determine if there is another blockage in her bowel, if scar tissue from surgery #1 and #2 is the culprit or if they are facing a new challenge.
This photo was taken in December. It breaks my heart to see it - but as our friends said it, "it helps to know what you are praying for." Here she was just two days ago:
Please join me in praying for this precious little girl. Her parents have always been such pillars of strength and love to our family in our many crises. They are incredible Christians, parents (of 5), partners in marriage and friends. Our hearts ache for their family. When your child is sick, somehow everything else in life seems so small. They have prayed fervently for our son, and we turn our hearts and minds to their sweet daughter today.
