Worst Possible Punishments

On our date last weekend, my husband and I were talking about the worst possible punishments that could be cast on people. Ok, that sounds like a pretty dark topic, but we were in a packed movie theater, which made me think of my dad. Just read on, you’ll understand.

Worst possible punishments for:

  • My dad: making him go out to eat at a busy restaurant and then to a crowded movie theater. He HATES being around people he doesn’t know and all of their scents and voices. He hates germs and bulk-prepared food.
  • Me: putting me in a car with my children and dog and making me ride more than 1 hour. Past experiences have made me REALLY skittish of traveling with my kids in an enclosed space – especially my son. Think vomit and not being able to roll down windows.
  • My mom: making her pet a cow. Her brothers once strapped to her a cow and then taunted the cow to run and she was stuck. She’s been terrified of cows since.
  • My grandmother: having all of her family together and not letting her enter the kitchen.
  • My sister: buying her a present and then turning on the video camera to catch her reaction. She is not able to smile or be appreciative of gifts.
  • My mother in law: locking her in a room without her cigarettes and Prozac and telling her that someone she loves is having a problem.
  • My cousin Sarah: making her dye her naturally beautiful red hair.
  • My son: making him go a whole day without a hug or kiss. (He’s a loverboy)
  • My daughter: book burning. She wouldn’t have survived Hitler – her books are sacred. READ IT, READ IT AGAIN, READ ANOTHER ONE!
  • Me (again): depriving me of sleep. Oh, wait – I’m living out that punishment!

So you see, it wasn't THAT dark of a topic. So what would your worst punishment be?
